Cooking has its own universal lingo that crosses cultures and language barriers. This lovely señora graciously opened her home to the photographer to demonstrate cooking on a chminia, a traditional Mexican stove. Barra de Potosi.

Neither of these two guitarists knows the other's tongue, but the older man is taking the boy on a half-day tour of guitar factories while they spoke the universal language of music together. Guitar factory in Paracho, Mexico.

Kathleen Crislip is a photojournalist from Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She can't speak Spanish but has enjoyed many journeys into Mexico, always finding a warm welcome.
